"but we must act for ourselves as well"
the new Rabbinical Program is a promise of "great things ahead for the Bnei Menashe community in Israel. I hope that it will encourage more Aliyah [immigration to Israel], and will foster leadership, Zionism and Judaism amongst us."
"I also hope that this program will show that we, the Bnei Menashe, are able to stand on our own," Menashe said. "We have many missions ahead of us, both here in Israel and abroad... After 25 years of the process of our return, we feel that it is proceeding too slowly; we can no longer depend only on others, but we must act for ourselves as well."

Details
One of the goals of Bnei Menashe Organaization is to help develop future spiritual leaders of the Bnei Menashe community in Israel by facilitating advanced Torah study among a core of promising candidates. In order to advance Torah learning and prepare spiritual leaders, Bnei Menashe Organaization with the help Yeshivath Beit El sponsors outstanding Bnei Menashe scholars for six years in Yeshiva. These young men, many with families, spend 10 to 12 hours each day learning Halaha, Tanach, Gmara and Emunah. As a condition of their scholarship, each student volunteers in some activity that benefits their community. Some prepare weekly Parsha sheets in their native languages of Thadou or Mizo; others give lessons to the Bnei Menashe in their communities on Shabbat and weeknights.
